We dont really have a nickname like E town or such each little municipality has there own nickname such as North van and west van, i wouldnt say that downtown vancouver is referred to has gastown, thats just one part of the downtown core, mostly the main area is just downtown, no other nickname, theres also the NOrth shore for west van and north van as they are across the water



We do though have the not offensive, but cultural nicknames that i dont think i can mention here..

Vancouver's nickname is Hongcouver due to the large number of people of Oriental extraction living in the Greater Vancouver area

I don't think Vancouver has really has a nickname. Sometimes kids will shorten it to "Van" but that's pretty uncommon. "Gastown" might be the closest thing to a a nickname. It's actually a part of the downtown core and sometimes people refer to Gastown as Vancouver.

I dont think Vancouver has one if it does nobody uses it. There's West Van and North Van and like Kits and East Van but I think thats bout it.
