I have a 7-year-old young girl visiting me and she really wants to see a Moose in the wild!!

Chances of spotting a Moose in Rockies or up North towards Prince George are at large, but don’t plan on driving that far out of Vancouver for a short visit.
Vancouver Zoo used to have one, but I don’t know if still exists.

I wonder if anyone spotted a Moose in Manning Park and the area or some other place, which is in 3-4 hours driving distance from Vancouver.

Thank you for your help.

Viewing wildlife is a tricky business, at best.

I live in Yukon, where moose outnumber people about 2 to 1. I've seen plenty, but never on demand! Same with bears - I am a wilderness tour guide, and on Monday, I saw 2, but yesterday and today, none.

The closer you are to civilization, generally the harder it is. You have to get 'way off main roads. Also, timing is key. One of the best times is around sun-up. During the heat of the day, they tend to hide away, so as to not be seen by predators (and bugs!).

I hate to break a 7-year old's heart, but, the chances of seeing a moose in a place you can easily drive to from Vancouver is problematic, at best. Not impossible, but you would have to be very lucky.

You may see some in Stanley Park if you go into the forest. North Vancouver in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve and West Vancouver in The Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre are other good places.

there are moose in manning but you have to get off the road an into the wild places like swamps to see them, they mainly feed on water weeds.
