hey guys, I'm going to the GM place for the Coldplay concert. Do you have any tips for that venue? you know, dress code, parking space, etc?

I doubt there is any particular dress code for GM Place. The only thing that might get you some grief would be a T-shirt with some offensive language or graphic.
As far as parking I would strongly recommend that you don't drive if you can avoid it. Use Skytrain. It's inexpensive and fast.

I was just there a couple weekends ago for a Canuck game. Best advice would be to take the sky train. Parking is always an issue when you get into Vancouver. Plus when your going to a concert like that the parking lots will be packed. The sky train is cheap (compared to the cost of parking). The sky train also stops right on its door step .. all you have to do is cross a street (which is typically blocked off by police during big events).
As long as your wearing clothes .. and they are not extremely offensive you should have no issues at all.
There really is not much else to say about it. Its a great set up in there. More so then a lot of other venues I have been to over the years.
Dress code for GM Place is casual and appropriate for the vent. Tee shirt and jeans are fine. Take notice that you will be searched at the door and any container such as a purse of backpack will be searched as well. As for parking, there is plenty available in the immediate vicinity but it can be expensive and getting out of there after the concert can be a nightmare. Many people park to the east of downtown and take the Skytrain which has a station right at the venue. Sure beats paying $20 to $40 to park for a few hours and then having to fight traffic to get out of town later.

I always park at the Edmonds Skytrain station and ride downtown for hockey games and concerts. There aren't many spaces, but there's never any cars there. You can park on a quiet residential street a couple blocks away if you don't want your car in a busy area, but I've never had problems.
There's no dress code for concerts at GM Place. There is a quick security check going in the door, and after that almost anything goes. (The security aren't really looking for your bud or whatever, mostly just guns, hunting knives, missile launchers...) After the concert when everybody's leaving is when it's wildest (Metallica concert, 2004: dude at crosswalk, in hoodie, socks, and nothing else. NOTHING.)

yes definately recommend skytrain into the area as eliminates parking hassle/cost and lets you off very close to the venue. Get off at "Stadium "
