So I ordered an expedited parcel-USA from Canada Post, and Canada Post hands parcels off to USPS at the border, so here is the status thus far:

2014/01/23 20:24 USSFOA,USA Item has arrived in foreign country
18:27 USSFOA, International shipment has arrived in a foreign country
2014/01/22 20:17 RICHMOND International item has left Canada
18:48 BURNABY Electronic information submitted by shipper. Learn More The shipper has created a shipping label for this item and has sent us electronic information. However, if no additional updates are showing in Track, it means we have not yet received the item. We will start tracking the item once it is provided to us.

Please note that this scan event is recorded in Eastern Time (ET). All other events are displayed in their local time zone.
17:33 RICHMOND Item processed
16:03 RICHMOND Item picked up by Canada Post Learn More

I then tracked it on USPS to find that the package arrived in a processing facility in San Francisco at around 8 A.M. January 23rd. It is now the 28th, I have had no further updates, and Canada Post said it would be delivered in as little as 4 days after the order was placed. The parcel in question is no heavier than 2 pounds, in case you were wondering. Got any input as to when I'll be receiving my package, let alone when I'll be getting any more tracking updates?

I don't think the majority of people here on Yahoo actually work for US Postal Service or Canada Post. Those are the guys who are in control of your parcel, and they are the only ones that could give you estimates on the date of delivery.

Whenever a parcel has to cross an international border, as it would from Canada to USA, it has to pass through customs. From Vancouver to Chicago, that means we are dealing with US Customs and Border Protection. They stop anything going in, inspect it, decide if it is legal to come into USA, and also determine if there are any taxes or duty that has to be paid. So your five days was probably the parcel sitting on a shelf until they finally had time to get to it. They x-ray it, and if they see anything suspicious, they may even open the package.

So you saw some activity on the 28th. That means it probably cleared customs finally. Now it will travel by plane or train or truck from San Francisco to Chicago. How quickly depends on if you chose basic shipment or some sort of priority or expedited delivery. I'd expect 3-4 more days. But I will not guarantee you delivery during that period. After all, you paid Canada Post, not me...

With its pile history and urban beaches, Vancouver has got the rightly attained standing of being one of the very most beautiful cities on earth, with hotelbye you can have the chance to see this phenomenal city. One of the areas you'll need to see in Vancouver may be the Downtown Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is beautifully located on a peninsula in the Strait of Georgia bounded to the south by the delta of the Fraser River and to the north by a deep fiord reaching much inland. Here you can even begin to see the frequently snow-covered ranges of the Coast Mountains. Stanley Park is one of the very visited parks. Is a lavish Peninsula Park of enormous trees nearby to Downtown Vancouver. A smooth seawall path encircles the green space, and most visitors take the time to examine on base or by bicycle. Inland, the park offers many things to complete, and visitors may invest a complete day discovering attractions ranging from the totem posts at Brockton Point to the west coast sea living at the Vancouver Aquarium. Spectacular views certainly are a normal through the entire park.

The above answer seems logical.
