Okay, so my buddy is in his truck and were planning on driving up island, way up island. We live in Victoria so we wanna get to some small remote towns and cool nature stuff. Any suggestions? PS driving time doesn't matter, we got all summer!

Campbell River, the last bigger city on the north island. If you need reasonable supplies on the way up, it's a stop. Sayward has a well renowned restaurant, the Cable Cookhouse.
Port McNeil, smaller than Port Hardy, but has a nice vibe/Alert Bay a ferry ride across from Port McNeil. then Telegraph Cove, and Port Hardy. Port Alice is nice for nature, but not much going on there. Tofino, ugh. Nice beach scenery, but skip town part, it's been yuppiefied. The closest thing you'll get to a Whistler vibe on Vancouver Island.

Some must sees: the Goats on the Roof store at Coombs, the Cathedral grove (on the way to Port Alberni), and Long Beach, between Tofino and Uclelet.
Cathedral grove is a stand of old growth trees that has to be seen (and felt) to be believed.
I found Tofino okay; kind of a weird vibe to the place, and also very expensive. But, many people really like it. Port Alberni, OTOH, was really nice, and much more reasonable: hotels were about 1/3 as much, or less. They are working on making it a good place for tourists, and so far, so good.

North Carolina or eastern Tennessee has some amazing whitewater rafting expeditions. it may well be a brilliant journey to share with your friends. The mountains furnish some staggering atmosphere to p.c.. a lesser traveled street to get there and returned! My brother lived exterior of Asheville and multiple times drove to Cherokee for the weekend. I lived in Tn. some yrs. and love the Nashville area! additionally very prepared on Fl., have an Uncle via Okeechobee and going coastline-hopping for 2 wks. this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.
